Tevora wake up and get ready for school. Mom I don’t have anymore clean collar shirts and the only jeans I have left to wear have little shavings in them. Even if I was to go to school they would send if was to go school they would send me right back home so what’s the point of even going to school today. Why should not going to school even be a option Should we even have to wear that. What’s wrong with a t-shirt and some ripped jeans now and again. My article is about the uniform policy and if its good one. How do some students feel about it In this piece there will be students who like it, don’t like it and want change. The uniform policy has been changed 5 times since constitution high school has been open in 2006, which was 3 years ago. First they wore red, white, and blue shirts with collars and blue, tan, black, and gray pants. Then they started wearing what ever they wanted then they started the collar and no ripped jeans policy then we started wearing what ever we wanted again and know we are back to the collar shirt and ripped jeans policy again. I am writing about the way c.h.s feel about our uniform policy which seems to be to change it ever year.

There are some students in constitution high school who like the uniform policy. 10th grade student Shani Hayes says “ our uniform policy is cool we can wear what ever we want we just got to have a collar. People need to stop complaining about it as long as your stuff not ocky (fake) you cool” and a lot other students feel the same way. They feel its not really a big deal and people should stop caring. 10th grader Sameerah Pittmon says “I like collar shirts and its to cold for ripped jeans anyway”.

But on the other hand some students at constitution high school don’t like the uniform policy at all. 10th grader Fatima Joshua says “ its not far that we cant wear what ever we want to we are suppose to be constitution high school they want us to be the best but there main focus is the uniform central is the top high school in Philadelphia and they can come to school in there pajama if they wanted to”. Other students believe that the policy is unjust and its not for everybody and kind of un fair 10th grade student Hassaan Cooper “It all depends on who you are if Ms. Orson like you she wont even bother to ask if you have a collar on but if she doesn’t really know you or think you a bad student she is quick to check if you in uniform”.

Then there is students that feel both ways that sometimes it can be a good policy and sometimes its just a big waste of time. 10th grader Ishmael Johnson” says I have no problem with collars I think I look kind of nice with them on but its no reason for students to not go on trips or not be able to go on there soph hop”.

I took a survey of the 9th and 10th grade class on how they feel about the uniform policy and the results was.
1. Do you think the uniform policy is fair?
17 people disagree, 12 people agree, 8 people strongly agree and 8 people strongly disagree.

2. Do you spend a lot of money on your clothes?
18 people strongly agree, 13 people agree 8 people disagree, and 4 people strongly disagree.

3.Do you think we should have uniform?
24 people strongly disagree, 11 people agree, 8 people disagree, and 2 people strongly agree.

4. If we could have uniform would you like that?
22 people strongly agree, 8 people agree, 6 people disagree, and 5 people strongly disagree.

10 males and 29 females participate in the survey 18 was 9th grades, 25 was 10th grades, and 2 was 11th grades.
